Clare Carmona

COUNSELLOR AND DIRECTOR

Currently taking on new clients.

I have worked both in school counselling and private practice helping young children, adolescents, and families. I am most passionate about helping young people and families to recognise what has been holding them back from thriving in life.

I love to connect with my client through meaningful conversations in a safe environment while assisting them to gain the tools and strategies they need to begin to thrive recognising and valuing that no one’s journey is the same. Each client is a unique individual with their own circumstances, strengths, goals, values, fears, and struggles.

My goal is to always provide a caring, compassionate, attentive, and non-judgemental space for clients to feel safe and empowered to thrive in life recognising when clients feel safe therapy and healing can begin to take place.

As well as individual counselling, I often facilitates group programs and workshops covering areas such as anxiety, anger management, social skills. Specifically, My facilitated programs empower young girls to know their worth and value in a world that is trying to constantly pull them down. Of course there are some great workshops in the making for young men in our society as well.

Future interest includes parent workshops, and wellness programs.

With a passion to see lives transformed and hearts healed, a creative and collaborative approach is used drawing on relevant techniques from evidence-based therapy modalities together for an effective, individualised treatment plan recognising that not one therapy approach fits everyone.

Every client is unique and has unique needs in therapy. Some of the more common therapies used are neuroscience, expressive therapies, acceptance, and commitment therapy, strength-based and solution focussed therapy. These approaches are founded in a person-centred approach which focuses on the individual’s own experience and needs to inform the best way forward.

I really believe change can begin to take place when clients feel empowered to set goals and take the necessary steps forward to begin to heal and feel whole again.
